Welcome to My Personal Page
The Nunez family, along with our dear friend Kevin Burgess, are attempting to swim from New Brunswick to PEI to raise money for Brigadoon Village. This incredible organization gives children living with health conditions and life challenges the chance to experience the joy of summer camp. Brigadoon's vision is to help extraordinary kids be ordinary.
We are taking on this challenge in honor of our son Max who passed away at the age of 6 from brain cancer. To say Max was extraordinary is an understatement. He lived his life to fullest with gentle inspiring strength and witty humor. There were many days he would juggle school, sports and hospital visits and still have energy at the end of the day to play with his brother and sister. Max gave us the privilege to experience him and life through his eyes.
This challenge is a first for the Nunez’s and a family affair with Max’s brother, Sam, and Mum swimming, and Dad and family friend Kevin, kayaking. Sam is 12 years old and will be the youngest to participate in the BIG Swim through the GiveToLive foundation. When asked if he wanted to swim 15+ km to help kids with critical illnesses, he eagerly agreed. He is a decorated competitive swimmer and has the endurance and determination to take on this challenge.
Please help us give extraordinary kids summer memories and connections to last a lifetime!
