I am fundraising in support of Brigadoon Village! Help me send kids to camp!

Brigadoon's Mission: Brigadoon Village passionately transforms the lives of Atlantic Canadian children and youth living with health conditions and other life challenges to help them reach their full potential through experiential learning, meaningful connections and exceptional fun. 

Brigadoon's Vision: Giving extraordinary kids a chance to be ordinary.

I love the Big Swim because it challenges me to fundraise for this exceptional cause and encourages me to keep myself fit for the physical challenge of swimming to PEI. Another bonus is that The Big Swim has always been a fun family event for me in my three previous times of involvement (once with my daughter swimming and two times with my daughter and I both swimming). Previous awesome paddlers have included my husband Steve for me and my brother Tom and family friend Sean for my daughter Scotia. My sister Jill and Sean’s family have also helped as volunteers and we’ve always had lots of friends and family cheering us on. In Cape Breton, I also had the amazing experience of swimming with nursing co-workers Lauren, Jess and Jill! This year I have my cousin-in-law (Heidi) paddling for me, and I expect it will be a fun and rewarding experience for us both.

Helping send children to summer camp who otherwise might not get to go is something I can do to positively impact the mental health and personal growth of children living with various health conditions in Atlantic Canada.
